Registration

Learn how to register for Summer Session. The registration process is different for current students and students who want to enroll through Open University.

Current Students

Web Registration for current mini传媒 students begins Wednesday, April 8.

mini传媒 students can register for Summer Session classes in advance using Mymini传媒. Log into your Mymini传媒 to check your registration appointment. Before enrolling in a class, you must meet any required course prerequisites.

If you missed the advance web registration period, you may register online at Mymini传媒 on the first day of class with a permission number(s).

The registration period for Summer Session will close on June 8 for Session One and July 13 for Session Two.

Beginning June 9 for Session One and July 14 for Session Two, all students must use a  with the instructor, department chair, and PaCE signatures to register. 

Please review the following information if it applies to you.

 
  • Wait Listed Students

    The waitlist shall be prioritized for graduating seniors who have a graduation application on file for summer and fall 2026; and spring 2027.

    If you have been placed on the waitlist, check your  periodically to check your status. After you are enrolled, see calendar for payment deadline.

  • Students With a Disability

    Students with disabilities needing support services for classes (such as interpreting, test accommodations or note-taking) should contact the . You can call the Accessible Education Center at 408-924-6000, e-mail aec-info@sjsu.edu or visit www.sjsu.edu/aec.

  • Repeating a Class

    You may enroll online through your Mymini传媒 on April 8. Starting April 21, you must email the Office of the Registrar at registrar@sjsu.edu with your name, ID#, 5-digit class number, subject, course number, and section number for enrollment. Beginning on the first day of summer instruction, a permission number is needed. After the deadline for registration, follow enrollment instructions to submit a Late Enrollment Petition, see Summer .

    Repeating for the Second Time or More
    If you are repeating a class more than twice, starting April 8, submit the . Be sure to follow all instructions.

  • Graduate Student

    Graduate students enrolled in an mini传媒 graduate program can register for summer courses using their Mymini传媒 account. Log into your Mymini传媒 to check your registration appointment. Before enrolling in a class, check to make sure you meet any required course prerequisites.

Open University

Class registration begins on Wednesday, April 15. The first day of instruction is on Monday, June 1 for Session 1 and Monday, July 6 for Session 2. Attend classes online or in person starting June 1 for Session 1 and July 6 for Session 2. 

Starting Wednesday, April 15, enroll in your class(es) in one of two ways:

Enroll through Mymini传媒

Add yourself to the class if you meet the pre-reqs and there is no waitlist. Add yourself to the waitlist if the class is full. If instructor consent is required, email the faculty for a permission number. 

  1. Log into Mymini传媒
  2. From the student center, on the navigation tab on the left hand side, select 鈥淥ther items鈥 at the bottom to expand the menu, then click "Open University Enrollment"
  3. Choose 鈥淥pen University Undergraduate" as the Program to Enroll if you have not earned a degree before OR 鈥淥pen University PostBaccalaureate" if you have earned a degree
  4. Select Summer 2026 as the term and click continue. A message 鈥淵ou have just been activated as an Open University student鈥 will appear. Your account is now ready for registration

Enroll through DocuSign

DocuSign Open University - The link is available from  April 8 - July 13

  1. Starting Wednesday, April 15, enroll in your class(es) using the DocuSign Open University registration form. 
  2. The Office of Registrar's will then set up your account and enroll you in your approved classes. Once this process is complete, you will receive a confirmation email from the Registrar's Office with instructions on how to log into your Mymini传媒 account. You wait for 2-3 business days to log in and register for additional classes if you wish. Please refer to the and guide when logging into your accounts for the first time. 
  3. You can review the document and its status by clicking on Review Document in the email. It will tell you whether you have been approved or denied for the class. If not, you can follow up with Office of the Registrar's at records-regist@sjsu.edu.  
  4. Have your instructor add you to the waitlist if the class is full. Permission numbers are not necessary for form submissions.
